Religion and Spirituality lenses (and more)

Weblog from Katinka Hesselink on any lenses she may decide to make :)

Promoting your lens and getting it found in google

I’ve made two lenses these past two days in which I share info on how to get your lens found in google.

First up, though last made, I expanded my blogpost on the squidoo health check into a lens about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for Squidoo.

Second, though first made, I made a lens on a blogging platform I found that is real good on the SEO front. Vox is easy to use, yet optimized for search engines. This should make a good fit with lensmasters. After all – many of us are internet newby’s (or were when we started here), yet we do want the functionality that having a well optimized blogging platform gives. Vox is also a social network. LET’s NOT ABUSE IT, shall we?

Third, though made second, a lensography of my Nerdy Lenses. Both of the above, plus my CSS tips, Stumbleupon guide for lensmasters etc.

And if I may brag for just a second – according to squidutils, I have 100 fans (including myself); according to my profile I’ve had over 1500 visitors to all my lenses combined over the last week. Both are records for me.

Sounds good, I made a note to visit all of these tonight. I’m definitely not an internet newbie, but things have changed a lot since blogging came into being, and it’s time to learn new tricks.

Congratulations on 100 fans and 1,500 visitors — I can tell I have a long way to go! (See my slowly growing and much loved legion of fans here. I am definitely a newbie and I am definitely spending a lot of time learning.

Thank you for your support both directly and indirectly!

Congrats on the fans!! Where did you find that info, BTW? Was it listed somewhere or did you actually take the time to count all the pictures? I’m not sure I want to know that badly. :-)

It’s one of the new squidutils tools.

Oh – and you can put a widget on your profile or your lenses (or both) with the number of fans as well.
