Get your lensrank up before the end of the month – for payouts later

Since lensrank is dependent on when your lens was last edited, and pay out depends on lensrank at the end of the month, it’s a good idea to edit each of your lenses around about now…

I’ve been editing my head off the past couple of days – and thought I’d write a lens about the things you can do to get that edit to mean something at the end of the month:

Editing your squidoo lens – some ideas for updates.

    Spirit,

Don’t forget the Squidoo Toolbar that lets you add links to lenses as you browse the web. I’ve found it helpful in some instances.

The LR Landrush at the end of the month has been getting pretty intense lately it seems…

oh you don’t have to do this to get your LR up. Instead, you could get like 200 people to visit your lens in the next 4 days or generate a 100 backlinks in the same amount of time ;) Your choice.

True :) last week edits are just so much easier to manage than last minute actual real life visitors.

But I am a bit worried: the lensrank of most of my lenses has dropped dramatically. I went from 12 in the top tier to 6 – right after having edited most of the top 20 lenses.
Wonder whether that’s despite my edits or because of them? I do agree with Captain Squid: very intense landrush for lensrank. They really should go ahead and implement a pay out system based on average lensrank over the whole month. This is getting insane.

Using the average monthly lensrank makes much more sense than only looking at the last day.

Is it all worth it after looking at the rankings for today? If you, like me, had all your lenses just plummet, what do you now feel like doing?

If a lens just dropped 2,000 or more places overnight, how much tweaking do you think you can do to put that right before the end of the month?

That’s depressing – without me doing much, I went from 6 to 7 lenses in the top tier. I guess this editing stuff does have a more long term effect. Perhaps they just look at the last edit, and if it’s within a week from today, they add some points? anyhow, it remains a mystery, but doing nothing surely means getting an even lower lensrank….

The forums report that the lensrank plummet (and rise for other lenses) was due to a technical glitch. Things should slowly get back to normal.
