Religion and Spirituality lenses (and more)

Weblog from Katinka Hesselink on any lenses she may decide to make :)

Unpopular lenses unite – Meet my Hidden Spiritual Secret Lenses :)

I’ve made a lens about becoming popular on squidoo before.

Today I was so frustrated with my not so popular lenses (as in getting 0 to 5 visitors in the last week) I thought I’d make a lens about them. I’m sure someone else beat me to the punch with that idea, so please share your lens about your least successful lenses here. I will link them on this blog page & lensroll. Us underdogs have to stick together :) .

I started with this one: Hidden secrets – spiritual inspiration you weren’t looking for. Notice btw how big that introduction picture is? I think they’ve quietly changed the settings for the maximum size.

Then I made one about my non-spiritual lenses that don’t get popular. In lensrank they cover about the same range, which goes to show btw that it is easier to make lenses become popular if you have a lot of other lenses about the same or similar topics. So here are my My least popular lenses.

[edit]I knew I had picked this idea out of someone elses head. I even had a feeling that someone was Chef Keem… But now I found the lens. It’s devoted to all of our not so well performing lenses, not just his own. AND it donates all proceeds to charity. Wow. It’s called ‘the little lens that could’. [/edit]

Copycats :)

Inkserotica made her My Worst Ranked-squidoo-lenses Ever on the Ever project, including polls asking for feedback on why her lenses are not doing well.

LindaJM turned her ‘My Least Popular Lenses – and Lessons I’ve Learned From Making Them‘ into a learning experience. Very useful I think: great insight into what works.

[redid the title. I didn't think ' Not so popular? Meet my Hidden Spiritual Secret Lenses :) ' conveiged the message I meant. I did NOT mean to make you all more popular through secret hidden spiritual lenses or something. Not this time anyhow ;)

Katinka, you always manage to come up with such great ideas!

I could have a long lens if I featured my not-so-popular ones!
All but 2 of mine have less than 100 visits in a week, and almost half of them less than 10 in a week.
It’s frustrating to see people getting hundreds of visits a day, or even thousands.
Well one day it will be US – just you wait and see – and in the meantime keep those great lenses coming.

AJ: Actually, I’m pretty sure I’m not the first to do this. As I said: I’ll feature any lenses who have done something similar here.

Poddys: Most of my lenses get at least 5 visits a day actually. The ones I listed on those two lenses (20 lenses in all) all got less than that. But Poddys, getting LOTD should certainly help you: that’s one heck of a quality link :) It should help all your lenses a bit.

Great idea… I will make a similar lens. I’ve got a collection of lenses that don’t work! *yet* lol…

Now that’s a great idea! I’ve got several lenses that rarely hit 1 lowly visitor :) No idea why I can’t get them off the bottom. You’re going to see a spate of similar lenses across Sqiudoo now :)
