Religion and Spirituality lenses (and more)

Weblog from Katinka Hesselink on any lenses she may decide to make :)

My 250th lens is out :)

Most of my big number lenses have been just ordinary lenses. This time is no exception. I’d published my 250th lens before I knew it. It’s Spiritual and religious desk Calendars 2010. The 249th was also devoted to desk calendars.

In honor of having made it to 250, I am devoting this blogpost to my bottom 10 lenses, by lensrank. None of these get much traffic, though some did get more than 0 in the past week.

I tried jumping on the Harry Potter bandwagon with these gift ideas for kids. Who doesn’t love baby pictures? More calendars. As proof that keyword research doesn’t always work – here’s my holy communion jewelry lens. Another new one: Songbird watercolor calendars and planners. It was a great idea, but this one also never took off: Spiritual gift ideas for him.

Well, that’s it for the bottom commercial lenses. For squidoo I ask the question: Would you rather have a squidangel blessing or a quality link?. I made that lens before I ever became a squidangel, but of course now it has all the more meaning. Then there’s my lens about promoting lenses through forums.

Last but not least, my health and beauty lensography. Some of my niche lensographies do quite well, but health is such a crowded subject, it’s no wonder it hangs at the bottom.

Congrats on your 250th lens Katinka. One day I might just get to visit all of them :)

Oh, I like that Susan Bourdet Vertical Calendar…although the one with sound would certainly be educational!

Katinka, do your top lenses ever change?

I visited Harry Potter. I’ve often thought of doing some of the merchandise for him but never actually done anything about it. He will always be an important part of our family memories.

I flew over Planners, Day planners, Weekly & Daily Agenda Books, too. Didn’t see a guestbook. Was that intentional?

    Good question Brenda,

Some of my top lenses get so much constant traffic throughout the year, that indeed they do not change. However, some disappear from top rankings because traffic has suddenly plummeted. Others are more seasonal – those top calendar lenses not at the top are not at the top the whole year through.

And yes, it was intentional not to have a guestbook on my planners lens, though I’m not sure I’ll be keeping the guestbook off indefinitely. Just an experiment.

Congrats on 250. :) I am always amazed on which lenses stay at the top, and which ones die down. I have learned a lot from your lenses and blogging, and thank you for that. We can all learn more that’s for sure. And here’s to continued success in your online ventures.
